Synopsis
A documentary film about France Prešeren, embodied by the Prešeren Statue on Tromostovje in Ljubljana, and about the modern poet – the rap artist Klemen Klemen, the journalist and writer Vesna Milek, the student and model Dragana and miss Frida, who worked, so it was chosen by doctors, in the public toilet on Tromostovje.
The film shows us who these people are and what they think about this or that – from human organs to Europe. The film also features an appearance by the transvestite socialite Marlenna and many other likeable personalities.
”Under Prešeren’s Head” is part of the series ”Europe’s Old New Faces”, which was created on the initiative of the German producer LOOKS Film & TV from Leipzig and was realized for the European television network ARTE. The series involved the participation of 10 directors and producers from recently associated EU members: Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Cyprus and Malta. The central theme of the series revolves around a monument and the stories of individuals in some way connected with it.
