The feature film Washed and Buried, directed by Martin Turk, has received €150,000 in support from Eurimages, the European coproduction fund. Produced by Bela Film, the film is a coproduction with Italy’s Incipit Film and Croatia’s Cobra Chicks.
In its third funding round of 2024, Eurimages supported 24 European coproductions. Our film is among the selected projects. Filming is currently under way in the Val Canale area near the Slovenian–Italian border.
The story follows Nadja, a successful lawyer of Slovenian descent, who returns to her hometown after years away to say goodbye to her grandmother. Her grandmother’s final wish leads Nadja to uncover family secrets and confront questions about her own identity. The screenplay was written by Martin Turk and Fabrizio Bozzetti, and Lara Komar plays the lead role.
